Fly Sweet Bird to The Land of No Return
This project arises from the universal human need to discover inner strength and transcend the fears that emerge when facing challenges and confronting our own ego. By transforming these fears into a source of momentum, we are guided toward the inner light that resides within each of us. Composed by Macarena Palazuelos, this contemporary classical musical work, based on a poetic tale originally written in English by the artist, invites the audience on a profound journey of introspection. Through imagination, it encourages viewers to rediscover the seeds of courage and self-love within themselves.
The narrative follows Noa, a bird in search of her wings, symbolizing the soul’s reunion with self-love through the release of fear. Written in a contemporary classical style and scored for piano, cello duet, and soprano voice, the story unfolds across eight chapters, with each chapter's text projected for the audience to read while listening to the accompanying music. The performance immerses the audience in Noa’s transformative journey, allowing them to connect with her emotional evolution.
The staging is minimalist, featuring lighting and story projections that accompany the character of Noa, optionally performed by one or more dancers throughout her quest. The Great Spirit of the Universe, represented on stage by the soprano singer Masha Soboleva and music ensemble, serves as a mystical presence—encouraging, confronting, and guiding Noa along her path with a universal voice that both illuminates and narrates the story.
This musical piece is designed to be both compact and versatile, making it easy to transport and perform in various venues while preserving its intimate and personal essence. It offers a deeply moving experience for audiences of all kinds, particularly those on their own personal journeys seeking to reconnect with themselves.
This magical performance has already touched the hearts of many during performances in Mexico City, including The Quimera Music Festival in 2019, and in concerts in Houston, Texas, in 2022
